Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri, 12th April, 2017: An owl was today rescued at Dhupguri town. The incident occurred at the Zilla Parishad Fishmarket area of the town. The local people saw the owl was writhing in pain due to the crows attacked the poor creature. However, some of them identified as the ‘Lakshmi Pencha’ i.e. the holy carrier of Goddess Lakshmi. This had made a superstition among the residents as a good omen for the people. This superstition, however, turned fortunate for the owl because it was then rescued by the localites and taken into safe place. Later the Forest department was called in and it was ultimately taken by them.
